Early Morning PMS

As I start typing this post, its 5:17 am. I should be fast asleep by now but as is usually the case, I’m not.

I don’t really know what I’m supposed to do at this hour. Should I have a Ross and Rachel type scene where I prance around the room in my birthday suit? I wish I could, but I’m pretty sure my roomies would have some issues with that. Should I read? Should I watch a movie? Should I catch up on my writing? Should I workout? Life can be pathetically pointless early in the morning.

On most other nights, I end up net-surfing or reading something from my module content. I wish someone else would be awake at such times. Being nocturnal is so much fun! People don’t realize what they’re missing out on.

It is at such hours that I come up with my freaking awesome rhymes a la ‘when love is in the air, the hair stands on the bear’. Most of my best poems/songs have been written around 4-5 am (believe it or not, I actually do write better stuff than the above-mentioned rhyme).

The obvious solution to the whole ‘what-to-do-this-early-in-the-morning’ thing would be to count sheep jumping over random fence and going off to sleep. Its just that..I don’t want to do that. Back home, I’d go into the kitchen and make a cheese omelette or something. But I can’t do that in hostel. Too much effort.

P.S. I feel like eating cupcakes. Hence, the background.

College, Roommates and Paneer

Classes started today..for a few lucky ones anyway. The batch was divided into 4 groups. The first 2 had lectures and the last 2 had to sit in the library and rot. The cozy corners in the library didn’t help much. A creepy pigeon stared at us from a tree outside the window. Very annoying.

Induction week was fun, seeing as how we didn’t do much. Just sat in an air conditioned class room with dimmed lights and watched presentations about cakes from Russia. Interesting, no? Food in the campus has been good except for the shocking abundance of paneer in everything. I think it sells cheap in this place.

My hostel room is pretty decent. Bedsheets and curtains are green which makes me feel like I’m plankton on the surface of the ocean. There’s a pantry on the 1st floor where one can make popcorn, instant noodles etc. The TV is also on the first floor. Made quite a few friends during induction week. Already had 2 sleepovers with them. Have 2 roomies. From now on they shall be referred to as Honey Loop and Taekwondo. Honey Loop studied in the same school as me, and Taekwondo is a karate black belt. Represents India during competitions. Other friends shall be referred to as Nameless, Drugwali, Barbie Legs, DDLJ and War Mongerer.

Moving on, I am completely broke as of now. Waiting for my bank account to come through. What a pain! I have to buy shoes for college and I don’t have the money for it. Aaaaaarrgh!

Cribbing And Crabbing

Not that many of you care, but I’m back from my road trip – ALIVE! Shocking, innit? I shall tell all in another post.

My life sucks, as usual. I’m sleeping on the floor of my room because my bed is covered with clothes, books, CDs etc. I’m too lazy to clean it up.  So, I resign myself to shivering on the floor every night (no, that does not motivate me to clean up). My brother now has a Macbook. I wish I didn’t like him so much. Makes things difficult. Don’t you just hate it when someone you know buys that 2.13 kg aluminium body of awesome-ness?

My cat, Alejo, thinks he’s a dog. He buries bones in the garden, scares away other cats. Hangs out with dogs. He even makes weird loud noises when strangers approach the house.

Anyway, dinner awaits. I cooked. Can you sense the excitement?

pointless existence

just came across a blog -http://beforeshedies.wordpress.com/. basically, the author of the blog, Kate, has decided she must read 1001 books before she dies. readers of my blog might think i approve of such an amazing idea and yet, i don’t.

Kate is 18. that’s my age. and i don’t like knowing that there are freakishly intelligent teens out there. lament of the unintelligent, some might think. not true. i read too you know. i may not have read Metamorphoses by Ovid but I have read Voltaire (in your face Kate!). and anyone who hasn’t read Douglas Adams deserves to die a slow and painful death. however, the point remains the same – intelligent teens must be banned! (if you haven’t figured it out yet, i’m jobless and i like making up conspiracies and banning stuff.)

next topic – the bird armies concept is spreading like wildfire . after all, i came up with it. a lot of people, 11 to be precise are freaked out by the whole ‘mutated-birds-eating-away-at-humans’ thing. soon, 12 people shall be freaked out and then my plan for world domination shall be fulfilled (or some such less awe-inspiring thing).

today, i abandoned my usual routine of watching tv and lazing around my room. i actually clicked photographs of flowers in my garden. i also took photographs of phallic fruits. for some reason, trees in my garden insist on producing these. aliens may be responsible for this selective mutation of fruits.

P.S. – my sincere apologies to Kate for bitching about her. i would make it up to her, except i lack the willpower to get off my beanbag and do stuff for someone else. sorry again! but i really do think that her plan is amazing. hope she succeeds.
